Muniyaras Wayanad is a calm and serene cave located near Sulthan Bathery. Muniyara is situated at one kilometer distance from Marayoor, an ancient place in Wayanad. Muniyara Wayanad is an excellent trekking spot for tourists. The structure of this cave is very interesting. These caves are made of huge rocky slabs. The view inside the cave is very exciting. Inside the Muniyara cave the ambience is calm and serene.

There is a belief in this area that Muniyaras is an ideal place for the ancient sages to conduct their meditation activities. There is also a myth about the cave that in olden age dead bodies were kept in it. Muniyara caves are considered to be the shelter of ancient tribal. Adjacent to the Muniyaras is the river Pambar. Pambar is a short river from Marayoor. The remnants of potteries and Stone Age accessories got from the Muniyaras are exhibited in the Wayanad Heritage Museum. Wayanad Heritage Museum is located in Ambalavayal which is a famous the shooting spot for movie makers.
